LAURINBURG — Scotland Health Care System will celebrate National Health Care week from May 11-18 with continued free blood pressure and osteoporosis screenings, as well as the hospital’s annual staff picnic.
“This week, we pause to recognize that our extraordinary staff carry out miraculous activities in our health care system and to thank them for that commitment, said Greg Wood, Scotland Health Care System’s president and CEO.” Our patients and their family trust us, their friends and their caregivers, to provide them the care they need when they’re here. Perhaps more importantly, they know they can trust us to be here when they need it in the future.”
Free blood pressure and osteoporosis screenings will be offered to the community throughout the month of May. No appointments are necessary and results are immediately available. Free prostate cancer screenings will be offered on June 14 with Dr. Timothy Moses, urologist, providing the examinations. On June 26, the annual Men’s Health Event provides men of all ages the opportunity to learn more about their first line of defense in many areas of their life. For dates, locations and times of these and other community events call 910-291-7550, or visit the calendar page at scotlandhealth.org.
Plenty of good old-fashioned burgers and barbecue chicken with all the side dishes are planned for associates at the annual picnic, and on Thursday the annual Award of Excellence recipient will be announced.
