ROWLAND — A Rowland man has been charged with murder after shooting his older brother to death at a party this weekend, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
James Timothy Hunt, 41, died at Southeastern Regional Medical Center early Sunday morning, hours after being shot in the chest by 33-year-old Jamie Blake Hunt, according to Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives.
According to Thompson, the brothers were at a party at a home on Henry Berry Road Saturday night when an “altercation occurred.” The two went out into the front yard and James Hunt, who lived on Biggs Road, was shot, Thompson said. The shooting was reported at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
Jamie Hunt, of Bertha Jones Road, was charged with second-degree murder and has posted his $50,000 unsecured bond, according to a jail official. The jail was unable to provide a photograph of the accused.
