ST. PAULS — A 28-year-old St. Pauls man arrested for attempting to rape a child under the age of 13 is now facing six counts of first-degree sexual offenses after a second victim was identified, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office. The alleged victims are siblings.

Stevie Earl Bullard Jr., of Rex Church Road, St. Pauls, was arrested on Jan. 16 after the alleged victims’ mother found out and reported the abuse, according to Chief Deputy Rodney Hester. Hester said the victims, who are both female, were assaulted on six occasions.

Hester said that Bullard knew the victims and their mother. According to Hester, deputies learned of the second victim early on during their investigation but warrants for the additional six counts were taken out Tuesday morning, Hester said.

Bullard is being held at the Bladen County Jail under a $1.020 million secured bond. That bond could increase when he is served with warrants regarding the six additional charges.
