American flags on Main Street were product of work by many

To the editor:

The citizens of Laurinburg were privileged to see the beautiful American flags flying this past Veteran’s Day to honor and remember the veterans and active duty personnel who have sacrificed so much for our country.

The Donation Revitalization Committee secured the flags, the Ladies Auxiliary of the U.F. W. distributed pamphlets giving the history of our flag and the holidays on which the flags are to be flown. The Scotch Gardners of Laurinburg worked closely with these organizations to insure the success of this project. The city of Laurinburg distributed the flags in the morning and collected them in late afternoon.

One idea, cooperation and hard work from concerned citizens can accomplish a great deal for our city that we all call home.
