Rams sign deal

with Brady Quinn

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Rams have agreed to a contract with Brady Quinn, quickly adding another quarterback after losing Sam Bradford to a season-ending left knee injury.

Kellen Clemens, the backup the past two years, will make his first start since 2011 on Monday night against the Seahawks.

The former agent of linebacker Elvis Dumervil has been disciplined by the NFLPA for actions that led to the linebacker’s release from the Denver Broncos last March.

The NFLPA Committee on Agent Regulation and Discipline imposed a six-month suspension of Marty Magid’s certification as an NFLPA contract adviser and levied a $25,000 fine.

Matt Harvey has

successful surgery

NEW YORK (AP) — Mets right-hander Matt Harvey has had elbow-reconstruction surgery, and he will miss the entire 2014 season.

Dr. James Andrews performed the operation that repaired a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in Harvey’s right elbow. Recovery from Tommy John surgery typically takes about a year.

Harvey had sought alternatives to the surgery after suffering the injury in August.
