God replaces worry with peace

Philippians 4:6 – “Don’t worry about anything…”

Paul was one that certainly had every reason to worry and feel anxious. He was sitting in a Roman Prison not knowing if he would be released or put to death. Yet, he writes the above words to the Philippian church.

Worry can immobilize many — even believers. People worry about events that have not even happened yet. So, what is the answer to this area of worry?

Paul goes on to say in this verse — “but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” When we give God our worry, he replaces it with his peace, a peace that goes beyond human understanding. So, when we begin to worry, turn to God in prayer. He will always keep his promises, and he promises to give us a peace that only he can give. Trusting God and giving him our worry will give us a New Hope for Today.
