LAURINBURG — Your child may be a charmer — but can he or she capture the hearts of all of Scotland County?
Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families will offer a chance to find out with its fourth annual Most Charming Child campaign.
Applications will be accepted from Monday to Oct. 18 for Scotland County children who will not celebrate their 5th birthday by the time voting ends on Nov. 22.
Entries will be published in The Laurinburg Exchange prior to the voting period, which will begin Oct. 22. An unlimited number of votes may be submitted at a cost of 50 cents each.
The twelve children who receive the most votes will be displayed in a full-color calendar, with the cover going to the child who receives the most votes.
The first-place winner will also receive $200 cash. Second place will receive $75, and the third-place winner will take home $50. All twelve finalists will receive a trophy, an invitation to ride on the partnership’s float during the Laurinburg Christmas parade, and two calendars to give away to friends and family.
Registration forms can be picked up from the Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families office. The Partnership will set up booths at community businesses to accept votes from the community.
There is a $15 per child registration fee. Photos submitted should feature one child each. If the photo was taken by a professional photographer, it must be accompanied by a release form that gives reprinting rights.
