LAURINBURG — Wade S. Dunbar III, producer with the Wade S. Dunbar Insurance Agency in Laurinburg for 41 years, has earned the designation of Certified Builders Insurance Agent.
Dunbar successfully completed a series of six four-hour continuing education courses and passed a comprehensive final exam at Builders University, the educational division of Builders Mutual Insurance Company.
According to Dunbar, the designation will help him better serve commercial clients, such as contractors and construction firms.
“Builders University is a unique program designed to assist our agency partners in understanding the complexities of the construction insurance market,” said Michele Hemric, Builders Mutual’s director of training and development. “We are proud to confer the CBIA designation in representation of his knowledge and commitment to the industry.”
The Laurinburg agency was opened by Dunbar’s grandfather in 1890 and continues to serve as the company’s home office. There are offices in Pinehurst, Fayetteville and Oriental as well as Richmond, Va. and Pensylvania, but Dunbar said the company does business all over the country.
